A 37-metre-long, 9-metre-high reclining Buddha faces west, depicting Sakyamuni in his parinirvana state—peaceful, wise, and harmoniously integrated with the surrounding mountain.
This large monumental marble Buddha statue took two years to complete, from initial design and clay modeling to hand-carving (cliff rock carving), marble polishing, and final installation. Monks from the temple received expert guidance, while sculptors from the Fine Arts Academy refined the design through meticulous adjustments. Completed in 2003, the statue was crafted to the highest standards, embodying a serene, solemn, and meditative presence.
