This 37-metre-long giant Reclining Shakyamuni Buddha statue was fully designed and sculpted by our studio, with master artisan Liu Hongli leading the creation. Specially commissioned by a thousand-year-old temple in Xinchang, Zhejiang, it is carved directly into the natural mountain rock using high-quality white marble.
Resting peacefully on a Sumeru lotus base, the Buddha’s face is calm and radiant like the full moon. The statue reflects the sacred moment of Parinirvana, as described in ancient sutras, blending deep spiritual meaning with exquisite craftsmanship. It stands among the largest modern reclining Buddha stone sculptures.
