This standing statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva is 1.8 metres tall and carved from white marble. The statue features a three-faced depiction of Guanyin. On the front, Guanyin holds a child in her arms, known as the “Child-Giving Guanyin”. On the left, she holds a string of prayer beads, symbolising her blessings and prayers for all beings, wishing them liberation from suffering. On the right, she holds a purification vase, one of her key sacred instruments. The vase contains an inexhaustible supply of sweet dew, symbolising Guanyin’s boundless compassion and ceaseless mercy that nourishes all living beings.
Atop the statue’s head is a figure of Amitābha Buddha, reflecting the core Buddhist principles of the master-disciple transmission and the union of compassion and wisdom.
